Husband and wife, Gene and Natha Waddle, opened their first restaurant in 1938; this landmark opened in 09/01/1945 and closed in 2004. The restaurant was closed by Russell Waddle, son of the founders, who could not negotiate a satisfactory rent with the landlord, Dirk Koopman.
It became a Krispy Kreme donut stand in 2004 and later was leased by the Hooters Restaurant chain, c. 2008.
