As Richard Longstreth has noted, the Westwood Village development was announced to the public in 12/1927, and construction began 04/1928 and continued throughout the 1930s. By the late 1930s, Westwood Village became one of the healthiest and most chic shopping districts in Los Angeles, and a key spot for movie premiers.
