This former department store operated from 1914 until 04/26/1979; the building grew steadily with additions throughout the 20th century; it reached its fullest extent by 10/1962, when occupied 75,000 square feet, an entire city block in the town of Lynden. It was converted into a mall, when the department store closed.

According to the Lynden Tribune, the Lynden Department Store #3 was, for a time in the 1920s, the largest department store west of the Mississippi River.
