In 1887, the Los Angeles Times campaigned for a sidewalk to be created in the 6th Street Park; "there is hardly a dustier spot within the limits of the city than the so-called sidewalks about this park. The dust, too, is of the most disagreeable character, light and fine as powder, agitated by the lightest wind and the most careful foot-fall of pedestrian." (See "The Parks Sidewalks," Los Angeles Times, 05/26/1887, p. 4)
This park was laid out prior to 1887.
