Demolished
Following a protracted historic preservation battle that began in 1963, the Dodge House was razed in 1970; its demolition caused a furor in Los Angeles, and helped to spark the creation of the Los Angeles Conservancy, the city's leading historic preservation lobbying group; Kathryn Smith in her book, Schindler House, (NY: Harry Abrams, 2001), noted that the Dodge House was demolished in 1968 [p.21];
