Victoria Bartolomea, a Gabrielino Indian, was raised at a dormitory of the San Gabriel Mission; the house mother, Dona Eulalia Perez, took a liking to Victoria and spent extra time educating and nurturing her. In young adulthood, Victoria married a member of her tribe and bore him four children; with the help of Dona Eulalia, she received from the San Gabriel Mission, 128 acres on which to develop a small farm. This occurred in 1838, after the death of her Native American husband of smallpox and just after her second marriage to Hugo Reid, born in Scotland but a Mexican citizen. She and Reid continued to live at her residence, Uva Spina, even after Reid built an adobe to oversee his much larger estate, Rancho Santa Anita. Benjamin Davis Wilson purchased the Rancho Huerta de Cuati in 1854 from Mrs. Reid, and renamed the property, "Lake Vineyard." A descendant of Wilson's, General George S. Patton, was born on the rancho in 1885.

Demolished; The house, Uva Spina, was destroyed in a strong earthquake in 1855.
