The founder of the Stetson and Post Lumber Company erected this hotel in the late 1800s. The Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart purchased the Stetson Hotel in 1932 to serve as a nurse's dormitory for those working at the nearby Columbus Hospital. Columbus Hospital served any patient regardless of their ability to pay and the Depression swelled patient numbers. The hospital discontinued use in 1965.
The Stetson Hotel was a square, three-story box covered in rusticated stone.
The Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart altered the Stetson Hotel in 1932 to serve as a dormitory housing for nursing students at Columbus Hospital.
