Robert Ellsworth Gross (05/11/1897–09/03/1961), President and Chairman of the Board of Lockheed Aircraft Corporation 1932-1956, lived here in 1956. Gross was a member of the nearby Bel-Air Country Club. The Hotel Bel-Air was also located nearby, at 701 Stone Canyon Road.
