This small church had a hipped roof and a corner steeple. It took its basic Romanesque stylistic cue from nearby Stanford University Main Quad, also a Romanesque Revival building complex. Composed of redwood, the first church for this congregation took two years to build.
This small church underwent several additions between 1896-1914. A tall belltower was raised, and a large sancutary with a vaulted interior was also added. The church also was moved to new site across Webster Street c. 1914, while the a new church was being built.
