Local bond measures funded the construction of the Stockton Municipal Auditorium, construction of which began in 1925; sculptor Joseph Wicks designed relief sculpture on the Stockton Memorial Civic Auditorium's main facade, above the front doors and on the frieze.

This auditorium seated 2,800 for Pacific University events in 1976.
