This design shown at the First Annual Exhibition of the Seattle Architectural Club carried the caption: "Proposed piers and docks to be built at the foot of Union Street and connected to First Ave with a bridge over Railroad and Western Avenues. The street railways to run to a union dock and return around loop. By this scheme, passenger and freight traffic would be kept separate, and the passengers landed in the retail center of the city."
