Dewey W. Metzdorf (1899-1966), who owned the Anchorage Hotel, Anchorage, AK, also purchased the Hotel Oasis in Palm Springs, CA. (See Sid Copeland, "The Story of Western International Hotels, [Seattle: Seattle International Hotels, 1976], p. 27.) Metzdorf became a Vice-President of the Western International Hotel chain in 1951. He died in Palm Springs, CA.

The Oasis Hotel was considered one of the earliest Modern buildings in Palm Springs, CA.
