Building History
Like the McElroy House at 2645 Gough Street in San Francisco, CA, this dwelling was planned in an octagonal shape. Its plan was influenced by the ideas of Orson Squire Fowler, who wrote the 1847 book, The Octagon: Or A Home for All, that detailed the advantages of an octagonal floor plan.
