A small creamery operated on this site c. 1908; it operated under until the late 1940s. In 1938, Don Dunlop and Charles Runnel operated the ice cream shop, which habitauated residents to gathering at this corner to meet and eat. Later, a Manning's Cafeteria opened on a larger corner lot, further filling a need for a Ballard meeting place.

Demolished c. 1948. A Shell Oil Gas Station operated here thereafter until c. 1963.
