In 11/1924, the Los Angeles Times reported that the People's Mortgage Company contemplated erecting a sizable investment building: "Preliminary plans are being worked out for an eight-story store and loft building to be erected on the corner of Fifth and San Pedro Streets for the People's Mortgage Company. The property has a width of ninety-three feet and a depth of 112 feet. Cost is estimated at $250,000. George M. Lindsey is the architect."
