The Shingle House was located in the Clarendon Heights Neighborhood of San Francisco, CA. Mayhew designed it as a long, linear building, that bent to follow the contours of its hillside location. The rear of the dwelling was glazed and had a sweeping 280-degree view of the Bay. The second floor had three bedrooms each positioned en suite. An exterior hallway also linked the bedrooms. A basement accommodated a laundry, maids room and garage. The dwelling contained roughly 2,800 square feet.
