Building History
Between 1895 and 1900, at least, Bernard Baruch, vice-president of the Capitol Milling Company, lived at 1407 South Figureoa Street in Los Angeles, CA. (See Los Angeles, California, City Directory, 1895, p. 217 and Los Angeles, California, City Directory, 1900, p. 132.)
At the time of the house's construction, Baruch financed it himself. Rudorff and Snyder, were the building contractors and Abram Edelman, the architect.
Demolition
The Bernard Baruch House, near the intersection of South Figueroa Street and West 5th Street. was razed. The Union Bank Tower (1967) later was built on this site.
