The Spanish Colonial, two-story office/retail building this bakery occupied was built between 1927-1933. It was located next door to the California Theatre. The California Bakery sold pastries as well as other products.

This two-story building was notable for the Spanish Baroque ornamentation highlighting its cornice line.
