A gymnasium was added to Lakeview Elementary School in 2000. During construction, a tusk from a prehstoric mammal, a Proboscidean, most likely a Columbian Mammoth, was unearthed and preserved by Washington state scientists. It was sent to the Lawrence Livermore Laboratories for carbon dating which revealed it to have been 19,250 years old.
