In 1932, the Civilian Conservation Corps provided labor to lay the foundation of the Alpha Rho Chapter of the Theta Chi Fraternity at the University of Washington, Seattle (under the supervision of A.S. Hanson, General Contractor). This was the second of two houses owned by this chapter; the first was outgrown by 1930.
Lund designed the Theta Chi house in an L-shape, typical of French Norman Revival residences of the 1920s. It had a masonry walls and a steeply pitched, hipped roof, with shed and gable dormers, bay windows, diamond-paned casement windows, and entry turret typical of the style.
John Rushmore designed an annex to the Theta Chi House in 1964; it is connected by a skybridge to the existing 1932 residence. Alterations to the north-side elevation and the skybridge were undertaken in 1992.
