In 2007, Google leased three buildings in an office complex in Kirkland, WA, totaling 195,000 square feet. Google, based in Mountain View, CA, opened a first office with approximately 400 employees in Kirkland in 2004. Since that time, Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft have occupied large new office buildings in the Kirkland and Bellevue areas.
