This hotel and apartment building, to be erected on a 100x150 foot lot, asjoined the existing Windemere Hotel on its north side. It was designed by M. Eugene Durfee for the Windemere Hotel Corporation, Ltd., and its principal owners, H.J. Borde and Jesse M. Wheelock. The Barnet Shapiro Construction Company served as the Building Contractor.
Durfee created an eight-story design, with a first-floor lobby and a coffee shop located in a sub-grade space. All rooms of the hotel/apartment building had private baths, a feature just becoming frequent in hotel buildings of the time.
