The Seattle Telco Federal Credit Union formed in 1938 to serve the employees of Pacific Telephone & Telegraph of King County. The name was changed to Watermark Credit Union in 2003, to clarify its availability to others outside the telecommunications industry. It had grown to encompass seven branches by 2007.
