This complex, angular design reflected the diagonal geometries employed by Frank Lloyd Wright at Taliesin West Studio, Scottsdale, AZ, 1938. According to the architectural historian, Alan Hess, The Springs "...was one of the best individual examples of Googie to be built, a stong concept carried through by a remarkable architect." (Alan Hess, Googie Redux, [San Francisco: Chronicle Books, 2004], p. 101.)
This small, 1,500-square-foot restaurant cost $850,000 to built in 1956, a very large sum.
Demolished in the 1990s.
