Fran Bigelow (b. 1944), trained as a chef in San Francisco, CA, opened Fran's Chocolates in Seattle, WA, 1982. It began as a two-person firm and grew to employ, in 2007, 40. Bigelow and her son, Dylan, work for the company. It reached a new sales high in 2006, of $4.5 million.
