Before 08/01/2011, PCAD mistakenly listed Brainerd Jones as the architect of the Dutton House. Diane Painter, the architectural historian who wrote the National Register nomination for the residence, corrected the error, noting that Isaac. J. Galbraith was the actual architect. Dr. Painter is an expert on West Coast architecture. She wrote of the house: "The 1906 Dutton house is an American Foursquare with Colonial Revival and Craftsman influences. It was designed by Spokane architect Isaac. J. Galbraith. It is a two-story house with a nearly square footprint (it is slightly deeper than it is wide), located toward the center and west side of its 7,800 square foot lot." (Email correspondence from Dr. Painter, to the author, 08/01/2011.)
