"San Francisco, Oct. 30--The chcocolate, coffee and spice facotry of D. Ghirardelli & Son on Sansome street was burned this morning. The loss was $75,000. The building was a three-story brick and the fire was prevented from spreading by the thick brick walls. The factory, which was completely gutted, gave employment to forty men. The fire started in the roasting room."
