Dean A.C. Weatherhead and Professor C. Raimond Johnson of the School of Architecture at the University of Southern California, made the annual "vagabond" summer trip in 1930 to 8 European countries. This trip was to study modern architecture. "The latest trend in modern architect will be studied by the students in various cities and countries, emphasis being placed on American work as contrasted with that of other nations."
