"Albertson published several articles suggesting that this relatively early step-back design was inspired by local rock formations. The architects carefully controlled the color of the brickwork to achieve a subtle gradation, from dark earth tones at the base to the much lighter hues at the top of the structure, accentuating the building's height and reinforcing its metaphorical relationship with the mountains. Anecdotal evidence suggests that Joseph Wilson was the actual designer."
