Book review; "Mediterranean Revival, or Spanish Colonial Revival, architecture was introduced in California by Goodhue and Winslow through their buildings at the Pan Pacific Exposition in 1915. It was not until the twenties that the movement reached its peak, however, and George Washington Smith is outstanding among the several gifted architects responsible for achieving an almost 'unanimity of architectural form' for a brief time in southern California."
