The 1930 US Census located them as living in an $85-per-month apartment at 829 Forest Avenue in Evanston, IL, where William Field, Jr., worked as a salesman for a chemical company. The family was financially comfortable, and retained a live-in maid, Lucille Homeyer, (born c. 1920 in MO). Parents

His father, WIlliam A. Field, Jr., (born 02/17/1901 in Chicago, IL-d. 02/20/1996 in Fort Lauderdale, FL), served as the Secretary of the Saint Louis Mutual Life Insurance Company in 1940. His mother, Ruth Kreismann Field, (born c. 1903 in MO), supervised the household, that included three boys, Frederick, (born c. 1930 in IL), William III, and Peter (born c. 1935 in IL). They married in about 1927.

According to the 1940 US Census, WIlliam Field II had attended four years of college, while Ruth, graduated from high school.
