Relocation

Born in Autun, France, Jean Louis Bourgeois before studying with Moyaux and Victor Laloux at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts in Paris, France.

Bourgeois worked in Persia between 1906 and 1908, before relocating to San Francisco in 1908. He worked in Chicago, IL for D.H. Burnham and Company c. 1909-1910, and returned to San Francisco to assist Arthur Brown, Jr., with an architectural atelier associated with the San Francisco Architectural Club (SFAC).

He left the US for good in 1915. He was killed in France fighting in World War I on 02/26/1915.
