Résumé

Interior Designer, Frederick and Nelson, Seattle, WA, c. 1914. At the outbreak of World War I, McComb was still in Europe, and an article in the Seattle Times listed her as one of several local women for whom no information had been received for some time. It wrote: "Miss Florence McComb, an interior decorator employed by Frederick & Nelson, is in London and as no word has been heard from her since she sailed from America, her friends here are anxious for her safety. Miss McComb left Montreal on July 11, with her sister, Miss Esther McComb, of Montral, intending to spend a year in Europe studying her profession. Word has been received that she is registered in London, but nothing of her plans have been communicated to friends or relatives here. Miss McComb lives at 1744 East Sixty-second Street." (See "Seattle Girl Sends Word of Her Safety," Seattle Daily Times, 08/11/1914, p. 5.)
