He married Amelia Draper Manney (born c. 1862-d. 1957). At her death, her obituary said of Walter Manney, "Mrs. Manney was the widow of Walter Manney, a building and road contractor and a member of Ballard's first City Council." She was born in London, ON, and came to Seattle from Vancouver, BC, in 1888. The obituary indicated that she was a member of the Ballard Pioneers, Trinity Methodist Church and the Elderbloom Club.
