Principal, Henry J. Knauer, Architect, Los Angeles, CA, 1921- . According to his 1918 World War I Draft Registration form, Knauer was already a self-employed architect at that time, and deisgned the Victory Theatre in Burbank by 1918-1919. He was not, however, certified to practice architecture in CA until 07/1921.

As early as 1914, Knauer did work for the developer H.A. Church, a bank in Baldwin Park and a mixed-use commercial building in Montebello. (See "Baldwin Park Bank," Southwest Contractor and Manufacturer, 09/26/1914, p. 12, col. 3, and "Montebello Building," Southwest Contractor and Manufacturer, 02/28/1914, p. 18, col. 1.) In 1915-1916, his business address was in Room #441 of the office building at 106 West 3rd Street, in Downtown Los Angeles. He had moved to an office at 610 South Broadway, by at least 1918. He moved offices within this building several times, being in Room #703 in 1918 and Room #1128 in 1921. According to the US Census of 1920, he resided in a rented room at 248 South Olive Street in Los Angeles, CA. He was single at age 34.
