He lived with his maternal grandfather, Lewis, a parents and sisters Carolyn and Maud in 1900 at 2240 Pacific Avenue in San Francisco. He moved out of his parents house by the mid-1920s, when he married Rosetta P. Fisher. In 1930, they lived at two addresses, 3055 Pacific Street, and in rented quarters at 3380 Laurel Street, and had enough money to afford a servant, Mary Scannell (born c. 1889 in Northern Ireland).

From at least 1935 until 1940, Fisher, his wife and a cook resided in a rented house at 3380 Jackson Street in San Francisco. Parents

His parents had German Jewish ancestrries, and both migrated to NY. His father was Godfrey Fisher (born 1843 in NY-died 1926 in San Francisco), who in 1910 worked as an insurance broker. The family lived well, and maintained a staff of two servants. His mother, Dora Brown Fisher (born 1858 in NY-died 1918 in San Francisco), who was 15 years younger than Godfrey, maintained the household. She had had four children, two of whom survived in 1910. Alfred had at least two older sisters, Carolyn (born c. 10/1880 in CA) and Maud (born c. 05/1882 in CA-died before 1910 in CA).

Dora's father, Lewis (born c. 04/1829 in NY) worked as a clothier in San Francisco and had been naturalized about 1850.

He married Rosetta P. Fisher (born 07/08/1888 in CA-died 11/22/1976 in San Francisco). They married c. 1924.

Biographical Notes

His 1942 World War II Draft Registration form indicated that, at age 58, Fisher stood 5-feet 8-and-one-half-inches tall. and had gray eyes, gray hair and a light complexion.
