Biographical Notes

The birth date inscribed on his family headstone (1885) differed from the hand-written birth information included on his World War II draft registration form that stated his birthdate to have been 05/24/1886. Ellinger, at age 56, stood 5-foot, 10-and-1/2-inches tall, and had a ruddy complexion, blue eyes, and gray hair.
