Pohl may have changed professions periodically, as a person with his name worked as a manufacturer in Chicago, IL, in 1896, as an architect in Yakima, WA, in 1909, a real estate salesman in Los Angeles in 1911 and as a journalist in Berkeley, CA, by 1920. It is possible that multiple people went by the name "Henry J.O. Pohl" at this time, but he appears to have moved about frequently, shifting jobs as he relocated.
