Principal, Theodore Lenzen, Building Contractor/Architect, San Jose, CA, c. 1862-1910. He had an office at 305 1st Street, Room #2, in 1870. (See San Jose, California, City Directory, 1870, p. 146.) In 1874, Lenzen was one of two architects listed in the San Jose City Directory, 1874, (p. 11), the other being Victor Hoffman (born c. 1832 in Prussia). Lenzen's office in 1874 was located at Kirk’s Building, on the southwest corner of 2nd and Santa Clara Streets.

According to the 1910 US Census, Theodore Lenzen came to the US in 1854. He lived on Lenzen Avenue in San Jose in 1874. (See San Jose City Directory, 1874, p. 83.)

In 1910, Theodore Lenzen, his wife, his son, Louis T. Lenzen and his wife, Ella, and their son, Theodore L. Lenzen lived at 53 Lenzen Avenue in San Jose, CA.

Both of his parents had been born in Germany.

He married Caroline Lenzen, (born c. 1841 in Germany); they married c. 1865 in CA. According to the 1910 US Census, Caroline came to the US in 1857;

Theodore had one son, Louis Theodore Lenzen, who also became an architect.
