Ryker was married twice: first to Nancy Ryker, from he divorced, and then to Jean Ryker from c. 1997-2007.

Rodney and Nancy Ryker had three children: a son, Jeffrey L. Thom, living in Samammish, WA, in 2007, and two daughters, Lisa Kay Evenson of Federal Way, WA, and Andrea Paige Ray-Anderson of Auburn, WA. He also had 15 grandchildren.

Known as "Park." Ryker purchased property on "Ryker's Ridge" in Port Angeles, WA, in 1982, and built a residence there. He had been a full-time resident there since 2003. For Weyerhaeuser, Ryker served as a Project Manager of Jay Peak, a Vermont ski resort.an
