Electrical Engineer, Puget Sound Power and Light, 1937-1948; Supervisor of System Engineering, Seattle City Light, Seattle, WA, 1948-1961; Chief Electrical Engineer, Seattle City Light, Seattle, WA, 1961-1968; all together, Gleason worked 26 years for the Seattle utility.

Served on various AIEE Committees; Member, Power Coordination Committee of the Western States; Member, Federal Power Commission Panel reviewing power blackouts in 1965 and 1967 in the Northeast. Consulting Engineer, Annette Island Power Station, AK. Gleason designed the Annette Island facility and supervised its construciton, and also served as a Consulting Engineer for electrical facilities in Fairbanks and Anchorage, AK;

First Prize, AIEE Competition for a paper on neutral inversion.

Personal

Born in Morton, WA, Gleason moved to Pullman, WA, in 1936, and Seattle, WA, c. 1937. He remained in the Seattle area for his entire 94 years.

Married Nola Ball in 1941; Nola Ball Gleason died in 1989;

At his death, Gleason had two daughters: Trenna G. Drumm, Sammamish, WA, and Sandra G. Walston of Shoreline.

Gleason spent time writing his memoirs among other hobbies in retirement.
