Kirby, Petit and Green, Architects, maintained its headquarters in New York, NY, between 1903 and 1909. This firm succeeded Petit and Green, established in 1902. Kirby and Petit and Green operated until 1909, and was followed by Kirby and Petit, Architects, that operated from 1909 until 1915.

Kirby, Petit and Green's last major building was the Hearst Building #2 in San Francisco, CA, begun in 1909 and completed in 1911. James C. Green would also design another building for the Hearsts in Chicago, finished at about the same time, 1911, as the San Francisco highrise.
