Focusing on "hospitality design," (hotel and restaurant design primarily), Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA) was headquartered in Santa Monica, CA at 3216 Nebraska Avenue. In 2019, the firm's web site listed 20 other branch offices located in Atlanta, GA, Badung, Bali, Indonesia, Bangkok, Thailand, Beijing, China, Clark, Pampanga, Philippines, Tecom, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Hing Kong, Istanbul, Turkey, Jakarta, Indonesia, London, England, Manila, Philippines, Melbourne, Australia, Miami, FL, Mumbai, India, New Delhi, INdia, San Francisco, CA, Seoul, Korea, Shanghai, China, Singapore, and Tokyo, Japan. Elsewhere on the HBA web site, it noted that the firm had a total number of 27 offices worldwide. As per this source, HBA had about 1,700 designers working worldwide in 2019.

Restructured between 2008 and 2010, the HBA consisted of mulitple components: HBA Studio (design services for mid-sized and limited-service hotel developments), HBA Architecture (comprehensive architectural design services), Illuminate (lighting design), and HBA Canvas (art planning, purchasing and project management).

According to Hospitality Design.com, in 11/2011, Kaerskov and Carr were named Co-CEOs, which triggered other personnel shifts within the company These included: "...Ilija Karlusic and Andrew Moore are the new co-presidents of HBA Asia Pacific. Other partners completing the new leadership include Inge Moore in London; Connie Puar in Singapore; Alicia Loo, Miguel Baeza, and Kathleen Dauber in Los Angeles; and Mathew Liu in Hong Kong. HBA also has promoted See Ping Wang to principal in the company’s Shanghai office."
