The Newsom Brothers worked in both Northern and Southern California during the 1870s and 1880s.
In 1877, the Newsom Brothers maintained their architectural office at 321 California Street. (See San Francisco, California, City Directory, 1877, p. 465.)Newsom and Newsom had its architectural office at 504 Kearny Street in San Francisco, CA, in 1883. (See the San Francisco, California, City Directory, 1883, p. 1106.) The firm was practicing in Oakland, CA, c. 1884.
Samuel Newsom had a San Francisco partnership with Frederick Herman Meyer (1876-1961) between 1898 and 1900.
Joseph and Samuel reformed their partnership in 1901, calling it "Newsom, Newsom and Newsom, Architects." The name returned to Newsom and Newsom in 1902.
