Joseph Coerten Hornblower (1848-1908) practiced with William M. Poindexter in Washington, DC, for about two years, 1877-1878, before opening his own office during the period, 1879 until 1883. He established an architectural partnership with James Rush Marshall (1851-1927) that continued until his death in 1908. Marshall kept the name Hornblower and Marshall until at least 1920.
