Firm Notes

Walter C. Wurdeman (1903-1949) and Welton D. Becket (1902-1969) began their architectural collaboration in 1930. They associated in 1930 with Becket credited as the architect and Wurdeman the engineer. Their collaboration became closer in 1931-1932, when they had a firm called "Becket and Wurdeman." All of this work between 1930 and 1932, occurred in WA State. Wurdeman was also working with the firm of Bebb and Gould in the early 1930s on the Seattle Art Museum in Volunteer Park.

They moved to Los Angeles, CA, in 1933, due to the lack of work in Seattle.

Wurdeman and Becket, Architects, was headquartered in Los Angeles, CA; it was the forerunner of the internationally succecssful firm, Welton Becket and Associates.
