Equity at Fort Lewis Communities, the private firm that managed and erected family housing at Fort Lewis Army Base in 2007, announced that it was building the ten-acre Reflection Park to honor American servicemen killed since World War I. The specific focus of the monument was to inscribe the names of soldiers stationed at any military base in the State of Washington or soldiers born there. The park was to be built near the Cascade Community Center, and was to be done in 2008. Equity at Fort Lewis Communities managed 52 small parks, 57 bus shelters and four community centers in 2007.
