Building Notes

This grouping of houses Ellsworth P. Storey (1879-1960) originally contained 12 cottages. One burned before 1930. Storey erected cottages at 1706 Washington Boulevard South, 1710 Washington Boulevard South and 1710 1/2 Washington Boulevard South in 1912. He erected 1800 36th Avenue South, 1894 36th Avenue South, 1808 36th Avenue South, 1810 36th Avenue South, 1814 36th Avenue South and 1816 36th Avenue South in 1915. The gable-roof original eight stepped down their hillside location overlooking Colman Park. Meandering brick paths wound up and down the slope to provide entry to the cottages.

Alteration

In 1910, Storey erected four additional cottages on this property, these having flat roofs and stucco infill panels on the exterior.

One destroyed by fire.
