Building History

This Greek Orthodox congregation opted to build this facility and sold Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church #1 in the Cascade Neighborhood of Seattle, WA. The second church was dedicated on 03/31/1963. The first Saint Demetrios Church would later be torn down in 1995 to make way for the Recreational Equipment Incorporated (REI), Flagship Store #3 at 222 Yale Ave North.

Building Notes

While a young architectural draftsman in the Thiry office, Folke Nyberg (1934-2010) recalled working on the plans for the Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church #2.
