Building History

Los Angeles architect Carl Maston (1915-1992) and his first wife Virginia Poston (1917-1994) erected this five-unit apartment building as an investment property. It was completed in 1955 and drew immediate attention in the architectural and popular press.

Building Notes

Maston himself was the owner of this five-unit apartment complex. He won an National Merit Award from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) for this structure in 1955.
